Dr. Kareem Morant, CEO
Kareem completed medical school at the University of Ottawa, where he met his wife and business partner Dr. Emily Fraser. He completed his Internal Medicine training at the University of Western Ontario, and his Cardiology fellowship at the University of Toronto. Kareem is an FRCPC and ABIM certified General Internist. He is currently doing an additional fellowship in Echocardiography at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
His interests include Quality Improvement research, Cardiac Imaging and teaching.
Shane Heywood, COO
Shane currently does Strategy at Reckitt Benckiser, a $14 Bn USD company. Before, he worked at Bain and Company and Procter and Gamble. Before, he studied Business Administration at the Ivey School of Business, Western University.
Key Achievement: Developed strategy for expanding 3 medium-sized businesses, enabling them to triple the business in two year
Dr. Emily Fraser, CMO
Emily graduated from medical school at the University of Ottawa, where she met her husband and business partner Dr. Kareem Morant. She completed her Family Medicine residency at the University of Western Ontario.
Emily is a family doctor who was working as the physician at OCAD University’s student health centre. She was also busy covering locums for various physicians in Toronto, Ontario. It was during her time covering for busy practices across the city, that her and Kareem came up with the idea for MD Circles. She is currently on maternity leave, caring for her and Kareem’s son Andre. Emily holds Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, where she previously taught medical students clinical skills.
Shalom Levytam, CTO
Shalom Levytam is the Founder and Publisher of iClarified. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Computer Science. In addition he has dedicated several years to studying BioInformatics with a concentration in the area of Computer Science.
Shalom has been a long time contract Web Developer specializing in graphic design and database administration. He has been involved in the creation of several large scale web applications and their subsequent deployment.
